Description

No more memories ,no more laughter, no more comfort , no more warm embraces from the love of your once life, no more playing with the children, no more babysitting the grandchildren, no more family holidays .no more cheering on the team ,no more taking your faithfull dog for a walk , no more taking your wife/husband to your favourite restaurant, no more would you like a cup of tea/coffee my love , no more buying xmas presents for your loved ones , no more kisses ,no more cuddles , no more looking into those beautifull eyes . This will come to us all one day , in a cold dark cemetery . Cherish everyone you love now , because you can't do it from the cemetery ,and here you will be one day .

Probably one of my favorites pieces of your work.

The lighting is executed perfectly. I am going to awesome this was shot in color and desaturated - and it was done very well. We still get that lovely yellow from the sun, partially hidden by the cloud cover. The sharp focus of the false tomb and the door beyond is a nice balance for the eye to follow.
The tree looming above and coming into the frame from the left ever so slightly is a nice frame, I think without it the top end would be a bit flat.

False tombs were created to protect the body from grave robbers, they were usually filled with rocks and stone and then capped, with inscriptions carved on the top or sides. They evoke a feeling of importance, of this one person being loved and cared for even after death. This shot re-enforces that aspect of protection for me double fold; the spiked fencing that obviously at one time surrounded this tomb shows the lengths to which some long gone family members wanted this cherished person to rest in peace.

While many of the comments for this piece state the obvious - the emotion of loneliness this shot calls up; I also see the the love and care that was once a part of this scene. This well captured moment lets me imagine back to a time when family members might have come, shed tears of loss and left flowers in memory of the love they obviously cherished so. I also see a theme of faith that can be derived from this shot! The tomb and beyond, the door from lonely darkness to the sun beyond!

Well done!! Brava!!
