These are the remains of Whitby abbey in Yorkshire England , It was here in the grounds of whitby abbey that Bram Stoker wrote the book, Dracula, Whitby is also mentioned in the book and the film .....

I love whitby, and looking at this in the dark from a certain angle sometimes it looks like theres someone watching you on part of the ruins ;] great job

I have photos of this, though not in my gallery. The composition in this photograph is lovely, such a moody, ancient feel - perfect for the setting of Dracula! The detail is wonderfully captured. My one fault would be that the wall at the base has not been photographed straight - it makes some of the archways look slightly off. But aside from that, which is hardly a problem at all, this is a gorgeous piece.

Yes i know what you mean ,I have straigtend the wall at the bottom in a copy of this image but it threw the main structure in the middle leaning to far to the left and i wasn't happy with it so i decided to go with this one

Great shot!

Although complete structures are impressive, there's always something majestic about the ruins; gives a better sense of what it took to build these things in the first place.

I loved walking the ruins of castles and abbeys when I was in England years ago.
